November's roundup
With lots more exciting new features added to Teams this month, here's our roundup of the top new features.
Meekan
Meekan is probably one of the world’s smartest AI scheduling assistants, matching everyone’s calendars in seconds to help - even for the busiest teams - find the best time to meet. So spare yourself the endless emails. Spend your time on work that matters without ever leaving Microsoft Teams.
Meekan is free to use and is now fully developed with Team’s new Adaptive Cards, to support your cross-device scheduling work in Microsoft Teams. Learn more about Meekan here.
Schedule meeting on the go
You can now schedule Teams meetings from your mobile device and invite people who are part of the organisation (including guests) via the Microsoft Teams app for iOS and Android. Additionally, you will also be able to schedule channel meetings soon.
See organisational information from anywhere
Microsoft Teams makes it easy for you to understand in which team or department people are. You can now also leverage the Teams mobile app to search for a colleague in the organisational chart or find it directly from their contact card.
Speaker Attribution for Live Captions
Making Teams accessible and inclusive for all, new, live captions with speaker attributions make it easy to see who is speaking and what's being said.
Spotlight
Keep the attention where it's needed in a meeting. By selecting the spotlight option, presenters can select a video to show as the main feed, once pinned the individual will be the main video shown to all participants.
Prevent Unmuting
Keep meetings focussed and relevant by preventing attendees from unmuting. Presenters and organisers can now choose who to unmute when they raise their hands.
A simple and effective way to minimise distractions.
Whiteboard Read Only Mode
Microsoft Whiteboard is a fantastic way of bringing your ideas together, but now read-only mode gives you the flexibility to use the Whiteboard for more. Read-only mode allows you to share only the areas you want to and allows others to collaborate when access is granted.
Store Meetings and Call Recordings in OneDrive and Sharepoint
Allow Teams recordings to be shared with external users or guests by storing in OneDrive or SharePoint allowing faster access to recordings and enhanced security and compliance.
Pinned Posts
Keep important information accessible to the whole team by pinning any message in a channel. This will appear in the information pane and be available for all channel members to see.
New File Sharing Experience
Seamless collaboration has always been at the forefront of Teams and this latest roll out makes sharing files even easier. You can now create a shareable link for any file stored in Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive and directly set appropriate permissions making file sharing quick and compliant.
