Overriding a Make Busy Notification

Posted by Jess Jepson on 23 June, 2016

If a user does not want to be disturbed, they can activate Make Busy on their phone. This prevents calls from coming in. If Make Busy is active, the caller will see a message on their screen, and hear a busy tone.

The caller also has the option to override the Make Busy notification and force the phone to ring. This is called Override, or Intrude.

This Mitel phone guide is for MiVoice Business (also known as Mitel 3300 ICP) users only.

To Override a Make Busy Signal

To force the phone to ring when the recipient has activated Make Busy, you'll need to have a key pre-programmed to activate Override. If you're not sure if you already have this feature enabled, speak to your system administrator.

Once you press the Override key, you will hear the recipient's phone ringing.
